I am super excited to be able to tell you about Thrive Ministry Conference! As a pastor, I noticed that there were people in my congregation that wanted to be better teachers, leaders, and better servants to the place that God has placed them. I also know that most of the people that sit in the chair or pew every week cannot go to Bible College to study and to be able to sharpen their skills. This is where the idea for Thrive Ministry Conference came from. I knew that this was not just a struggle in my church, but too many churches around the area. We at Faith Bible Church invite you and your church to come to Thrive Conference that will take place on April 16th, 2016!
I know that God does not want the ministries in our churches to be ordinary. He doesn’t want them to be stagnate or just getting by. What His desire is for our ministries to Thrive for Him. This is where our theme and name is drawn from. God wants us to have thriving ministries that are making a great impact for Him. Let us take a look at Colossians 1:9-12. Paul had just finished talking about how the churches faith was present, and there. Paul then says, “For this reason we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; that you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God; strengthened with all might, according to His glorious power, for all patience and longsuffering with joy; giving thanks to the Father who has qualified us to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in the light.” Paul tells the church at Colosse that he is praying that the Church thrives! This is why we wanted to do the ministry conference to help people thrive in their ministries. We also wanted to make sure that we talked about areas of ministry that would have a great impact. We have chosen 7 workshops that we are praying God will use mightily.
We wanted to make sure that our speakers were well qualified, so we assembled some of the best to be our workshop speakers, not only did we arrange a terrific team of workshop leaders, but our keynote speaker, Dr. Gilbert Parker, has years of Pastoral experience as well as 28 years of teaching at Davis College. His wealth of knowledge has impacted many ministry leaders, and he will give the attendees much needed wisdom in how to thrive in ministry.
